Arles is a city of art and history, classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage site for three key reasons:
- For its historic center and the ensemble of its Roman and Romanesque monuments,
- As part of the Camino de Santiago (St. James’ Way), with the Arles route being one of the four main routes that have crossed France and Europe towards Santiago de Compostela since the Middle Ages,
- As a natural space of global importance for the Camargue (Biosphere Reserves).
Arles is not only a rich Roman and Romanesque heritage site, but also the city of Van Gogh, the capital of the Camargue, and an annual hub for photography, music, and bullfighting
